Born in Seattle Wa, Alexis (Lex) Mathis, aka DJ Girl 6 was raised by a Sicilian mother and a Northern Italian father. She incorporates her own interpretations of the Seattle sound to portions of the music she spins. Although it's all about da Hip-Hop, DJ Girl 6 has been known to toss in samples from Nirvana, Hendrix or Heart when it suits the mood! Her father was a musician, her grandfather was a news anchor and actor, and her grandmother was a supermodel. If that’s not enough to live up to, her aunt married Max Factor!!!

Her greatest inspiration was and always will be Prince, specifically the old Prince, the guy who preached about freaky equality where race and sexuality were non-issues.

She is also influenced by pioneers like Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Q-Bert, Princess Superstar, LA Kendall and Seattle’s own Sir Mix-a-Lot.
